BACKGROUND

Sandra Liliana Cueva Cortez studied Architecture and Urbanism at the Pontificie Universidad Católica del Perú, and obtained her degree in Architecture and Urbanism in 2018. Her fascination with Peru's botanical and colourful cultural heritage inspired her to explore how humans and nature are interconnected. During an exchange program at the University of Los Andes, Colombia in 2016, she developed a fascination with other cultures and landscapes. As a result, Sandra continued her education at the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam in 2021, where she studied the Pre-Master Urbanism and Landscape Architecture program. During her work in Peru, she designed medium-scale projects such as the Sanctuary Memorial at La Hoyada, Ayacucho. Since January 2023, she has been working for H+N+S.

FOCUS

In H+N+S, Sandra works in conceptual visualization for projects of different scales, as in the following projects: Arcen, Heuvelrug and ARTIS. She has extensive experience drawing image-quality plans for art and landscapes. Furthermore, she creates 3D models for use in renderings.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

In addition to her work at H+N+S, Sandra experiments with a variety of painting styles and subjects to express her inner world in imaginary landscapes. Additionally, she conducts hand-painted denim workshops for adults and kids in Lima and the Netherlands. Painting is therapeutic, relaxing, and reflexive for her.

To showcase Peruvian embroidery, she founded Qinty Jeans, an enterprise working with women artisans and their traditional embroidery. Living in the Netherlands, she continues to develop her connection with nature through landscape architecture. She participates in art projects with International Creative Women in Eindhoven.
